Overview

Covenwick was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1186, by Connocanus O'Reilly Tyrwhitt. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Covenwick was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Covenwick is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Covenwick is buildings are arranged within a network of restrictive worn bedrock streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The brittle defences have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Covenwick seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are smiling, quietly exchanging words with a friend, or simply enjoying the day as they work. It reminds you of an evening at home as everyone dined, having run out of things to talk about and embraced the savory meal before them.

Covenwick has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Covenwick. Covenwick has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Covenwick's natural decorations nor waterways.

Covenwick has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Cultural Notes

Covenwick's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls. This design ethos extended to re-imagining earlier styles of structure to create them anew, with a similar overall look and feel to one another..

History

A local has came up with a wonderful new idea (8649 % 6)+1 months ago; it may be a magical innovation, a new industrial process, a new agricultural product, a new use for what was thought to be ancient garbage, or some other very useful, profitable idea. Everyone around them is fighting for the chance to exploit this clever new plan.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Covenwick was attacked by savage tribes living nearby Covenwick. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Covenwick lost 171 people, 377 livestock, and 31 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 191, when members of Covenwick's militia enacted an operation to break a siege of a particular port. The operation was complicated by the enemy setting up an ambush. The conflict ended with a last stand against the enemy until a particular event occurred, which ended in defeat for Covenwick's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Covenwick's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
